Why I Built Verb Rocket
Hola a todos!
My name's James and I'm the guy responsible for Verb Rocket. I've been learning Spanish on and off for over 20 years and during that time I've realised that the key to unlocking the language is understanding verb conjugation and the structure of the language. I'm a web developer and thought it was time to build the app I wish I'd had when I started learning Spanish.
This app not only helps you to conjugate verbs in all tenses and moods, but it teaches complete Spanish grammar. I've used years of studying and speaking Spanish to help me put this together. My Spanish learning journey has been something like this:
- Started teaching myself Spanish using books and the Michel Thomas course
- Signed up to an evening course for beginners
- Went on to take my Spanish GCSE in the UK
- Spent two months in Granada, Spain studying Spanish full time
- Lived in Barcelona for two months
- Returned to the UK and passed the A-Level Spanish exam
- Carried on visiting Spain with my family multiple times
- Lived in Spain for 5 years whilst having regular lessons and language exchanges
- Achieved a C1 level in speaking
I've tried so many methods, courses, routines, books, YouTube channels, podcasts and it all comes back to this. Master Spanish verbs and the Spanish language will fall into place!
